Bowling – India’s biggest problem

Bowling – India’s biggest problem

Australia announced their squad for the forthcoming series against India.

Australia squad: Michael Clarke (captain), Shane Watson ,David Warner, Ed Cowan, Phillip Hughes, Matthew Wade, Nathan Lyon, Mitchell Starc, Mitchell Johnson, Jackson Bird, Xavier Doherty, Moises Henriques, Usman Khawaja, Glenn Maxwell, James Pattinson, Steve Smith, Peter Siddle .

On paper , it looks a weak side but the big question is……does india have the bowlers to take 20 wickets and win a test match. I doubt. The series against England was a eye opener where our bowlers did not perform well in conditions suited to our bowlers. On the contrary, the English bowlers exploited the conditions well and ensured they beat India in the tests- a feat that they had not accomplished for the last 28 years.

If our batting fails, then we will see a repeat against what happened against England.

Even though India would be favorites to win the tests, Australia can spring a big surprise and should not be taken lightly.

The bowling department will be the reason for India’s victory or defeat.

How to make life of Value…

How to make life of Value…

In an age of affluence many people when they meet obstacles give up and take the course of least resistance. They refuse to stand up and face the problems eye to eye.

Little do they realize that sometimes the things that they rebel the most in life and look upon as obstacles are what they need most to develop their highest usefulness and efficiency.

If a diamond could talk, it would undoubtedly express resentment against the abrasive, grinding contact of the jeweller’s wheel that grinds and polishes its facets. Yet without the jeweller’s grinding wheel, the diamond has little value. There is no other way of making a diamond except grinding and polishing.

In the same way, human life must be subjected to difficulties, adversities and discipline to bring out those qualities that will make life of value to the owner.

Remember : Difficulties in life are intended to make you BETTER , not BITTER.

Stay young.

Stay young….

·       Don’t worry about numbers. This includes age, weight and height. Let the doctors worry about them. That is why you pay them.

·       Keep only cheerful friends.

·       Continue to learn. Never let the brain idle. Remember the phrase “ an idle mind is a devils workshop”

·       Enjoy simple things.

·       Laugh often, long and loud.

·       The only person who is with us our entire life is ourselves. Be ALIVE while you are alive.

·       Surround yourself with what you love, whether its family, pets, music, plants, hobbies….

·       Cherish your health: if it is good, preserve it, if it unstable, improve it. If it is beyond what you can improve, get help.

·       Don’t take guilt trips. Take a trip to a park, to a mall….etc but not where guilt is.

·       Tell people that you like them at every opportunity.

Remember: life is not measured by the number of breaths we take, but by the moments that take our breath away.

Rahul Dravid : truly deserves the award.

Rahul Dravid : truly deserves the award.

India’s greatest cricketer Rahul Dravid was named for the prestigious Padma Bhushan award this year.

He was the backbone of Indian batting and was rightly called “The Wall” for his superlative batting. He retired from international cricket recently. The former India captain scored 13,288 runs in 164 Tests with an average of 52.31 while he accumulated 10,889 in 344 ODIs, averaging 39.16.

Dravid, the only cricketer in the list to win the award this year, is the third highest run-getter in Test history behind compatriot Sachin Tendulkar (15645) and Australia's Ricky Ponting (13378).

Good luck mantra….

Follow the simple steps….& good luck will always follow you…

·       Do not judge people by their relatives, or by the life they were born into.
·       Memorize your favorite poem.

·       When you say “I love you”, mean it.

·       When you say “I am sorry”, look into the persons eyes.

·       Be engaged at least 6 months before you get married.

·       Believe in love at first sight.

·       Teach yourself to speak slowly but think quickly.

·       When someone asks you a question you don’t want to answer, smile and ask “why do you want to know”?

·       When you lose, don’t lose the lesson.

·       Follow the 3 rules: respect for self, respect for others, responsibility for all your actions.

·       When you realize you have made a mistake, take immediate steps to correct it.

Have the courage….

Have the courage….

When the new day begins, have the courage to smile gratefully.

When there is darkness, have the courage to first light a lamp.

When there is injustice, have the courage to be the first to condemn it .

When something seems difficult, have the courage to do it anyway.

When life seems to beat you down,  have the courage to fight back.

When there seems to be no hope, have the courage to find some.

When you’re feeling tired,  have the courage to keep going.

When times are tough, have the courage to be tougher.

When love hurts you, have the courage to love again.

When someone is hurt, have the courage to help them heal.

When a friend falls, have the courage to be the first to extent your hand.

When you cross paths with another, have the courage to make them smile.

When you feel great, have the courage to help someone feel great too.

When the day has ended, have the courage to feel that you’ve done your best.

Have the courage to be the best you can. At all times……

Have the courage…..

Why don’t you smile ?

Why don’t you smile ?

Smile costs nothing. Yet it can brighten a cloudy day.

If life is a journey, why not smile all the way?

Smiles are like flowers strewn, beautiful,  fragrant ,rare;

Coming from the heart, they really show you care.

But some people are just not blessed with this gift.

And that is what sometimes causes a rift

I wish I could stop all passersby, offer them a smile & ask them to try.

Keep smiling….

Why can’t you…

Why can’t you…

Today, many will awaken with a fresh sense of inspiration. Why can’t you?

Today many will open their eyes to the beauty that surrounds them. Why can’t you?

Today many will choose to leave the ghost of yesterday behind and seize the immeasurable power of today. Why can’t you?

Today many will break through the barriers of the past by looking at the blessings of the present. Why can’t you?

Today, for many the burden of self doubt and insecurity will be lifted by the security and confidence of empowerment. Why can’t you?

Today, many will rise above their believed limitations and make contact with their powerful inner strength. Why can’t you?

Today, many will choose to live in such a manner that they will be a positive role model for their children. Why can’t you?

Today, many will choose to free themselves from bad habits. Why can’t you?

Today, many will choose to live free of conditions and rules governing their own happiness. Why can’t you?

Today, many will find abundance in simplicity. Why can’t you?

Today, many will choose to do things right rather that things beneficial to themselves. Why can’t you?

Today, many will take action to make a difference. Why can’t you?

Today, many will make a commitment to be better mother, father, son, daughter, student, teacher, worker, boss, brother, sister…… Why can’t you?

Today is a new day
Many will seize this day
Many will live it to the fullest
Why can’t you?

It is not….

It is not….

It is not what we eat, but what we digest that makes us strong.

It is not what we earn but what we save, that makes us rich.

It is not what we read but what we remember, that makes us learned.

It is not what we profess but what we practice, that makes us great….

Examination – Self.

Examination – Self.

What happens to a person is less significant than what happens within him.  A persons thoughts are the architects of his destiny. When a person finds no peace within himself, it is useless he seeks it elsewhere.

The most important battle of life is the one we fight daily in the silent chambers of the soul. What lies behind a person and what lies before a person are tiny matters compared to what lies within a person.

If you feel that you have no faults,……there’s another one. Remember that the biggest room in the world is the room for improvement. If you don’t learn from your mistakes, there’s no sense making them.

When we do not consider suggestions, we reject our own potential. There are times when a person should be content with what he has but never with what he is….

Mistakes…

Mistakes…

There is a saying that a person who never made mistakes has never tried something new. Mistakes are a part of every human being. Appreciate your mistakes for what they are – for precious life lessons are learned the hard way, unless it’s a fatal mistake, which others can learn from.

Don’t be ashamed of mistakes but learn from the mistakes. Laughing at your own mistakes can lengthen one’s life while laughing at others mistakes can shorten life. Experience is the name you have to give to your mistakes.

Acknowledge that you failed, draw your lessons from it and use it to your advantage to make sure it never happens again….

Soft & Gentle are triumphant…..

Soft & Gentle are triumphant…..

When life begins…..
                                       We are tender and weak.
When life ends….
                                      We are stiff and rigid.

All things……the grass, the trees….

In life are soft and yielding….
In death are dry and brittle…..
So, the soft and supple are the companions of life…
While the stiff and unyielding are the companions of death.
A tree that cannot bend will crack in the wind.

Thus by nature’s own rule the hard and the strong are defeated while the soft and gentle are triumphant.

How to overcome problems in life….

How to overcome problems in life….

Coping successfully with the hardships, disappointments, troubles and tragedies of life is really the biggest problem for most people.

We talk of “taking the rough with the smooth”, yet there are many people who really seem to imagine that there ought to be no rough and who look at it bitterly when it comes. They act as though life owed to them to give success and happiness all the time. But this is incorrect.

There may be people who seem to get more than their fair share of it. But, trouble in some shape or form, at some time or other comes to all of us.
Remember that appearances can be misleading. Many people bear bravely a great burden which they manage successfully to hide and there are others with faces and tales of woe.

In working out our own personal philosophy of trouble, let us recognize that it is part of the very pattern of everybody’s life. None of us can escape. We are not alone or unfortunate in this respect.

Further, much as we may fight against the trials and troubles of life, they can play an important part in shaping our character and personality.
If we never experience trouble, how can we ever learn patience or courage or endurance? And if others never suffer, how can we develop sympathy, understanding and helpfulness for them ?

Troubles would seem to have not only an inescapable part but also a necessary part in our experience of life.

It is important to realize that while it is not within our power to determine what happens to us, it is in our power to determine how we will react to what happens to us.

Having formulated our outlook on the troubles which are liable to face us, we can then adopt practical steps which will help us in dealing with the situations as they arise. React to the problems with the will rather than emotion. This does not mean that emotion is to be avoided altogether. We will not be human if we do not experience feelings of sorrow or anxiety or fear. These are a part of the human set up. An unemotional person is often a very cold and unsympathetic one.

We must learn to keep our emotions under control.  We must not over react to situations. If we react, we would be prone to taking hasty decisions which would prove otherwise in the long run. Where decisions can be postponed, it is good to do so until calm and more rational view can be taken. Never take any decision when you are angry.

Instead of brooding over problems, think of practical ways to resolve them however small they may be. Being optimistic will save you from going to pieces when faced with testing times in life.

May you always have….

May you always have….

Enough happiness to keep you sweet,

Enough sorrow to keep you human,

Enough trials to keep you strong,

Enough hope to keep you happy,

Enough success to keep you eager,

Enough failure to keep you humble,

Enough friends to give you comfort,

Enough wealth to meet your needs,

Enough enthusiasm to look forward,

Enough faith to banish depression,

Enough determination to make each day better than yesterday !!!

India is getting united again….

India is getting united again….

After independence, we are now seeing once again a stronger united India. And that is good news. The developments in the last few months and how the nation has stood behind issues and possible solutions is an example that the nation is coming as one.

It all started with the anti corruption campaign which was led by Anna Hazare , Kejriwal and others. The entire country stood behind these people in the fight against corruption. The movement bought people from all walks of life on a single platform. The noticeable change was the coming of India’s youth in the struggle which was not the case in the past.

The second incident which bought the nation together was the Delhi gang rape case. The entire nation spoke one language of putting an end to the atrocities against women in our country. We can now expect fast track courts, stricter punishment, and more safety measures being taken to ensure more safety for women in India.

The third incident which bought the nation together was the beheading of our soldiers by Pakistan. There was a huge outcry against Pakistan and the way it was inducing terror on India. Seeing the entire nation voicing their concerns basis the facts, Pakistan has mellowed down at the LOC and has called for talks.

The three incidents highlight that no one can take India for granted, be it internal or external.

The government has to work for the people, the wrong doers will be punished by law & no country dare create any problem for us……….for they have to face a united India.

The dream of seeing a corrupt free nation, with respect to every Indian is not very far for this peace loving nation.

THE MEDIA HAS PLAYED THE MOST IMPORTANT ROLE IN BRINGING ABOUT THIS CHANGE !!! GREAT WORK !!!

Ego…..check if you have it.

Ego…..check if you have it.

Many of us have ego problem without even realizing it, thereby causing harm to others and to self.

Check the following…..

·       You never accept your faults.
·       You don’t want your best friend to be others best friend.
·       You don’t have best friends.
·       You feel jealous.
·       You raise your voice during arguments.
·       You don’t want others to interrupt when you speak.
·       You underestimate others knowingly or unknowingly.
·       You are angry on someone and you don’t let that person know about it.
·       If somebody scolds you, you get rude to your family members.
·       You blame others for your faults.
·       You don’t compromise.

If any 5 matches your character, you’ve got EGO. Try to avoid it.
