England defeated India in what was considered a match which India will win comfortably before the start of the test match given the turning track as asked by Dhoni. The turning track back fired and englands spinners did a fine job in comparison to indian spinners who just did not get much purchase from the wicket. The difference which i feel was the bowling styles of the spinners . Both Swan and panesar were flat and bowled much faster whereas the indians relied more on flight. With the ball coming quick the indians did not have much time to think whether to play forward or back.
Apart from bowling, englands biggest adavantage is the form of Cook. He has led from the front and his form has helped the team score enough runs to put the opposition under pressure. Pietersons knock was the turning point in the test match coz he dealt with the indian spinners ruthlessly .
Monty panesar had a great match and it was fun watching him celebrate every wicket.
with the series one all , the pressure will be on India and the spinners in particular to deliver.
England will only be keen to get the other top batsmen in form to push india to another defeat....
