Exercise or Excess Size.

Exercise or Excess Size.

Most people these days especially children spend a lot of time in front of the TV for long hours. They consume junk food during such time which results in most of them being overweight. This happens in most homes across & we often hear parents asking their child to stop watching TV and head to the playground for some sport which can keep them fit. Same case with most of the men in their thirties and forties- they are mostly in front of their laptops or using their smartphones chatting with friends.

We hear this in most homes – “Stop watching TV or leave the computer / Laptop/ smartphone and do some exercise …..and what we hear is a regular answer….I had a long day at school or it has been a tough day at office and let me relax” .

Most of the people say that they do not have time for exercise. The health benefits of regular exercise and physical activity are hard to ignore. And the benefits of exercise are yours for the taking, regardless of your age, sex or physical ability. One must not ignore the benefits of exercise which are listed below.

Controls weight
Exercise is the key to weight control because it burns calories. The more you exercise the more calories you burn. If you burn off more calories than you take in, you lose weight. It's as simple as that. Exercise can help prevent excess weight gain or help maintain weight loss. When you engage in physical activity, you burn calories. The more intense the activity, the more calories you burn.  If you can't do an actual workout, get more active throughout the day in simple ways — by taking the stairs instead of the elevator or walking up to your colleagues table instead of using the intercom.

Helps Prevent Diseases
Regular exercise is necessary for physical fitness and good health. . In fact, regular physical activity can help you prevent or manage a wide range of health problems and diseases .  It can improve your appearance and delay the aging process.

 Improves mood
Need an emotional up lift? Or need to de- stress after a stressful day? A workout at the gym or a brisk  walk can help. Physical activity  makes you feel happier and more relaxed. You may also feel better about your appearance and yourself when you exercise regularly, which can boost your confidence and improve your self-esteem.

Promotes better sleep

Struggling to fall asleep? Or to stay asleep? Regular physical activity can help you fall asleep faster and deepen your sleep. Just don't exercise too close to bedtime, or you may be too energized to fall asleep.
Improves Stamina
When you exercise, your body uses energy to keep going. It improves your stamina by training your body to become more efficient and use less energy for the same amount of work. As your conditioning level improves, your heart rate and breathing rate return to resting levels much sooner from strenuous activity.

Enhances Flexibility
Stretching exercises are also important for good posture. They keep your body limber so that you can bend, reach and twist. Improving your flexibility through exercise reduces the chance of injury and improves balance and coordination. If you have stiff, tense areas, such as the upper back or neck, performing specific stretches can help "loosen" those muscles, helping you feel more relaxed.

Improves Quality of Life
Once you begin to exercise regularly, you will discover many more reasons why exercise is so important to improving the quality of your life. Exercise reduces stress, lifts moods, and helps you sleep better. It can keep you looking and feeling younger throughout your entire life.

Conclusion.

Exercise and physical activity are a great way to feel better, gain health benefits and have fun. As a general goal, aim for at least 30 minutes of physical activity every day. If you want to lose weight or meet specific fitness goals, you may need to exercise more. Remember to check with your doctor before starting a new exercise program, especially if you have any health concerns.

Move up in Your Company & Career.

If you are looking to move up in your career, this article is for you. I will explain what you can do to get noticed by the right people and how you can take that next step in your career development.

From non-manager to manager
The hardest switch is usually from a non-management to a management position. This is mainly because you start out in your career without any management responsibility and once you have experience in managing people, it won’t make a big difference if you manage 10 or 20 employees.
When companies are recruiting for a management position, they are generally looking to fill this position with an internal employee. The hurdle is usually smaller for internal employees to get into such a position even with little or without previous management experience than for externals.
It is very important to show your leadership capabilities before you get promoted. You have to put wood into the fireplace before you can enjoy a fire. It does not work the other way around.

Build relationships within the company
When you are thinking about a promotion, it is very important to build relationships within the area you are looking to get into. It is not the most efficient employee who gets promoted, it’s the one with the strongest relationships with the right people.

How to meet these people.
Once you know in which area you would like to get into, there are several action steps you can take to make people aware of yourself and meet them. I will list a few here.

1.      Over  Lunch
Take people out for lunch from other areas and introduce yourself. You don’t have to start with the head of that organization, you can have lunch or coffee with a peer first, who is on the same level as you are. The most important thing is to get to know people from your target area to first, build relationships with people who can hire you or recommend you and second, to see for yourself if this area is something you are actually interested in.

 2. Sharing relevant content .
Share status updates, articles, videos, graphics, statistics etc. with your  contacts. The content should be directed into the area you are looking to move into.
Don’t just share anything, only if it resonates with you in your beliefs, values, interests or passion.
 3. Meetings
When you have your next meeting with people you have never seen in person, sit next to them instead of your best colleague. You will get to know each other on the fly and you have a reason to connect. If there is a break, use the time to get to know the new people.

4. Events
If there is a  party this year or other events, get to know as many people as you can. You can also prepare yourself and find out who the right people are to talk to from your Intranet.

What to talk about
When you meet with these new people, it is important that you talk about your intentions. They will not just magically sense that you are looking to move into a new department or division. Tell them what you are currently doing, what you are looking to do in the future and what they think about it. Ask them if they are happy in their position and department. Ask what they think where you would fit in best.
Also, very importantly, ask them if there is anybody else you should meet to make sure you achieve your goals.

How to prove your capabilities
As mentioned above, you must put wood into the fireplace before you can enjoy the fire. Here are some things you can do to get noticed and to enhance your chances for a promotion.

1. Tell people what you intend to do
If you don’t tell your boss that your intention is to move up the ladder or into another department, chances are, that it will never happen and that he will be very unhappy about your sudden move. You might fear that your current boss will think you are about to leave. However, if you tell him that you are happy in your current role and are looking to move internally in the next 6-12 months, he will be much happier to hear that instead of seeing you leaving without knowing about it.

2. Take charge.
Show your leadership capabilities. Whenever there is a meeting, you are actively involved in without an agenda, suggest that you put one together.
Whenever people are late for meetings, suggest to the meeting owner to start on time, whether everybody is attendant or not to make sure, people will be on time for future meetings.
Show that you are able to lead and influence.

3. Get in your own ideas and thoughts.
Don’t be scared to tell your boss or others how you think things could work better, faster, more efficient, cheaper, more effective or more stable. As a leader, it is crucial to initiate and innovate, especially in a large, slow-moving and rigid organization.
Once your idea has found somebody who is willing to support it, do everything to make the outcome positive and visible.

4. Bring people together
This might be the most powerful and fastest way to move up the ladder in your career or even in your own business.
If you connect people with something to share with each other, you provide high value and will stay a part of their relationship. When they work together, do business with each other or start a  company, you will be the person who brought them together and made it possible. This is extremely powerful.

The yearly review meeting with your boss
Almost all of us have this meeting. It is the best place and time to discuss your future as it is a fixed part of this meeting. Make sure you tell your boss exactly what you would like to do in the future. Ask for his support and recommendations. Is there a certification or an advanced training that could move you closer to your goal? Ask him what he thinks about it.
Prepare for your meeting and prepare well. Take with you all documentation of situations where you showed your leadership capabilities throughout the year. If you took notes in your meetings, this should be no problem.
Emphasize these points and tell your boss that you would like to take advantage of your talents and move in the direction you chose.

Wishing you a GREAT CAREER !!!

Logical Quote :

Logical Quote :

10% of road accidents are due to drunken driving.

Which makes it a logical statement that

90% of accidents are due to driving without drinking!

Staying young….

Staying young….

·       Don’t worry about numbers. This includes age, weight and height. Let the doctors worry about them. That is why you pay them.

·       Keep only cheerful friends

·       Continue to learn. Never let the brain idle. Remember the phrase “ an idle mind is a devils workshop”

·       Enjoy simple things.

·       Laugh often, long and loud.

·       The only person who is with us our entire life is ourselves. Be ALIVE while you are alive.

·       Surround yourself with what you love, whether its family, pets, music, plants, hobbies….

·       Cherish your health: if it is good, preserve it, if it unstable, improve it. If it is beyond what you can improve, get help.

·       Don’t take guilt trips. Take a trip to a park, to a mall….etc but not where guilt is.

·       Tell people that you like them at every opportunity.

Remember: life is not measured by the number of breaths we take, but by the moments that take our breath away.

Being on time...…

Being on time...…
One of the common attributes of all successful people is that they view their time as a precious resource. When you are late for appointments with people who value their time, you will have wasted one of their most valuable assets and there is a good chance they will view you as rude, irresponsible and disrespectful. Is this how you want to project yourself?
Not only should you make every effort to be on time for business-related appointments, but you should also do your utmost to be on time for personal commitments. Valuing your friend’s time and earning their respect is an important part of your individual reputation.
Why being on time is very important…
Being punctual shows others that you are a man of your word.
If you tell someone that you will meet them at a certain time, you have essentially made them a promise. And if you say you’ll be there at 9:00, and yet arrive at 9:30, you have essentially broken that promise. Being on time shows others that you are a man of your word.

Being punctual shows others can rely on you.
A man can always be found at his table, carrying out the duties needful for that time. People know they can rely on such a man – if he says he will be there, he’ll be there. But if a man is not punctual, others cannot rely on him — they do not know where he will be when they need him. His colleagues will begin to feel he cannot manage his own time, and these doubts will creep into matters beyond the clock, as it naturally raises the question: “If he is careless about time, he will be careless about everything.

Being punctual gives you self-confidence.
Showing up on time not only tells other people you are reliable, it teaches you that you can rely on yourself. The more you keep the promises you make, the more your self-confidence will grow. And the more you gain in self-confidence, the less you will be at the mercy of your compulsions and habits, and the more in control of your life you will feel.

Being punctual assures you’re at your best.
When you show up on time, better yet a little early, you have a few minutes to collect your thoughts, review your materials, and get better equipped to face the situation. You are at your best.

Being punctual shows you are more disciplined.
The punctual man shows that he is more disciplined and can organize his time much better than those who are not punctual.

Being punctual shows your respect for others.
Being late is a selfish act, for it puts your needs above another’s. You want  extra time to do what you’d like, but in gaining that extra time for yourself, you take away the extra time  from another, which shows your disrespect for others.

Being late is a form of stealing.
When you make others wait for you, you rob minutes from them that they’ll never get back. Time they could have turned into money, or simply used for the things important to them. In coming to meet you at the agreed upon hour, they may have made sacrifices – woken up early, cut short their workout, told their kid they couldn’t drop them to school – and your lateness negates those sacrifices. If you wouldn’t think of taking ten Rupees from another man’s wallet, you shouldn’t think of stealing ten minutes from him either. Being punctual shows you value time yourself, and thus wouldn’t think of depriving others of this precious, but limited resource.

Being late disturbs other people.
Your lateness not only robs others of their time, but disturbs them as well. The student who interrupts a professor in the middle of his lecture; the family which climbs over you to get to their seats at the middle of the row in the theater; When an old man was once asked why he had been so punctual in arriving at his church on time for decades, he replied, “I made it my religion not to disturb the religion of others.”

Being late strains relationships.
When you’re late in meeting other people, it makes them feel under-valued, that whatever you couldn’t pull yourself away from was more important or that they didn’t mean enough to you to warrant allotting sufficient time to arrive on schedule. The boss who flies in to see you feels like a dope standing at the airport alone and your child feels abandoned as he waits at school  for you to arrive, all the other children having already been picked up from school.

Being late hurts professional career.
Whether you’re an employee or in business for yourself, being late can hinder your professional success. Many companies have strict policies about punctuality — get a few warnings and you’re gone. Of course, if you arrive late to the job interview, you probably won’t land the position in the first place. And if you’re trying to win over a new client, arriving ten minutes late isn’t going to get things off on the right foot, in the same way that promising to get something to him by a certain date and then failing to do so, may have him looking elsewhere for your services.

Being late affects your life.
Always running behind simply hurts you in all areas of your life. It results in lost opportunities: missing a train, missing a meeting, missing an important part of a lecture, missing a birthday. It creates stress and can lead to accidents. It results in embarrassment and forces you to come up with excuses for why you’re late, putting a black mark on your honesty. Basically, it makes your life more complicated; for people seeking to simplify their lives, being punctual is an essential part of that path.

 Reasons You Should Arrive Early:
To give yourself a buffer in case something delays you. Planning to show up at the exact time of your appointment leaves no room for error.
To be relaxed for the appointment. Running through the door stressed out because you were rushing, never reflects well on you.
To make sure you are prepared for the appointment. Always arrive early so you will have a few minutes to relax, think about your agenda, and get organized.
To avoid making up an excuse for being late.  Please note people hate listening to excuses.

When you can’t be on time…
Circumstances do arise and it won’t always be possible to be on time. If you are going to be late for an appointment, call as soon as you know you are going to be late. This allows others to plan their schedules accordingly.

When you are on time you enhance your brand. When you are late, you devalue your brand.  Being on time is a choice.
Take pride in being a person who is always on time and prepared for appointments. Remember, there is no downside in showing up early, but there is significant downside to showing up late

If being on time is important to you, you will be respected, as someone who is always on time.
