Exercise or Excess Size.

Exercise or Excess Size.

Most people these days especially children spend a lot of time in front of the TV for long hours. They consume junk food during such time which results in most of them being overweight. This happens in most homes across & we often hear parents asking their child to stop watching TV and head to the playground for some sport which can keep them fit. Same case with most of the men in their thirties and forties- they are mostly in front of their laptops or using their smartphones chatting with friends.

We hear this in most homes – “Stop watching TV or leave the computer / Laptop/ smartphone and do some exercise …..and what we hear is a regular answer….I had a long day at school or it has been a tough day at office and let me relax” .

Most of the people say that they do not have time for exercise. The health benefits of regular exercise and physical activity are hard to ignore. And the benefits of exercise are yours for the taking, regardless of your age, sex or physical ability. One must not ignore the benefits of exercise which are listed below.

Controls weight
Exercise is the key to weight control because it burns calories. The more you exercise the more calories you burn. If you burn off more calories than you take in, you lose weight. It's as simple as that. Exercise can help prevent excess weight gain or help maintain weight loss. When you engage in physical activity, you burn calories. The more intense the activity, the more calories you burn.  If you can't do an actual workout, get more active throughout the day in simple ways — by taking the stairs instead of the elevator or walking up to your colleagues table instead of using the intercom.

Helps Prevent Diseases
Regular exercise is necessary for physical fitness and good health. . In fact, regular physical activity can help you prevent or manage a wide range of health problems and diseases .  It can improve your appearance and delay the aging process.

 Improves mood
Need an emotional up lift? Or need to de- stress after a stressful day? A workout at the gym or a brisk  walk can help. Physical activity  makes you feel happier and more relaxed. You may also feel better about your appearance and yourself when you exercise regularly, which can boost your confidence and improve your self-esteem.

Promotes better sleep

Struggling to fall asleep? Or to stay asleep? Regular physical activity can help you fall asleep faster and deepen your sleep. Just don't exercise too close to bedtime, or you may be too energized to fall asleep.
Improves Stamina
When you exercise, your body uses energy to keep going. It improves your stamina by training your body to become more efficient and use less energy for the same amount of work. As your conditioning level improves, your heart rate and breathing rate return to resting levels much sooner from strenuous activity.

Enhances Flexibility
Stretching exercises are also important for good posture. They keep your body limber so that you can bend, reach and twist. Improving your flexibility through exercise reduces the chance of injury and improves balance and coordination. If you have stiff, tense areas, such as the upper back or neck, performing specific stretches can help "loosen" those muscles, helping you feel more relaxed.

Improves Quality of Life
Once you begin to exercise regularly, you will discover many more reasons why exercise is so important to improving the quality of your life. Exercise reduces stress, lifts moods, and helps you sleep better. It can keep you looking and feeling younger throughout your entire life.

Conclusion.

Exercise and physical activity are a great way to feel better, gain health benefits and have fun. As a general goal, aim for at least 30 minutes of physical activity every day. If you want to lose weight or meet specific fitness goals, you may need to exercise more. Remember to check with your doctor before starting a new exercise program, especially if you have any health concerns.
